6 Key Questions to help with your 2021 Growth Strategy

The 2021 planning cycle is already on the horizon and finding people with the right skills and fit for your organization is critical, regardless of the economic and market conditions.

Therefore, as you think strategically about how to keep your business moving forward amid the most uncertain economic landscape in a decade, I wanted to share 6 Key Questions you need to consider that will help you in developing your 2021 “people” strategy.

  1. What additional roles/people do we need to achieve our growth objectives?
  2. Is retention an issue? If so, do we know the “real” reasons why?
  3. Are we doing everything possible to enhance our company brand to attract top talent?
  4. Do we have a structured hiring process to ensure we are only hiring the best talent?
  5. Do we have (and utilize) a structured on-boarding training program to get our new hires productive in the shortest amount of time possible?
  6. Where are the gaps in skill sets among the members of my leadership team – specifically, do they:
    • Possess the knowledge and skills to conduct an objective interview to identify the “right” people to help us achieve our growth objectives?
    • Have the ability to train and develop their staff to ensure they ramp up quickly and then maintain the ongoing knowledge and skills required to perform at the top of their profession?
    • Establish clear expectations, motivate and communicate their staff in a manner that produces consistent results, engaged, committed employees?
